Sony PSP was officially on sale in Japan on December 12, 2004, It was launched in North America in March 2005, and in Asian countries and regions in May 2005, in Europe and the PAL standard regions in September 2005.
PSP worldwide shipments exceeded 70 million units
Till the end of March this year, more than 3,200 games through the UMD (Universal Media Disc) released in the global market, total global sales reached 298 million copies. Except games packages, most of the game can be downloaded on the PS3 or PC.
In December 2004 Sony launched the first generation of handheld games PSP-1000, and in September 2007 released PSP-2000. It launched PSP-3000 in October 2008. The first entirely ineternet dependant download PSP Go was also released in October 2009.
